Cookie Policy
How V Social uses cookies and similar technologies on our Platform.
1. Who We Are
This Cookie Policy is issued by Just FOMO LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16533971), with its registered office at 50 Princes Street, Ipswich, England, IP1 1RJ (“we”, “us”, “our”). We operate the V Social platform (“the Platform”) accessible at v.social and associated applications.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the site operator. Cookies can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (that remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them).
In addition to cookies, we may use other similar tracking technologies such as web beacons (also known as clear GIFs or tracking pixels), local storage, and session storage. References to “cookies” in this Policy include these technologies unless stated otherwise.
3. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
3.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary to provide the core functionality of the Platform. They enable features such as user authentication, session management, security protections (including CSRF prevention), and load balancing. You cannot opt out of essential cookies as the Platform cannot function without them.
- Authentication tokens — keep you logged in during your session and across browser restarts.
- CSRF protection — prevent cross-site request forgery attacks.
- Session state — remember your preferences within a single browsing session.
- Cookie consent record — store your cookie preferences so we do not repeatedly ask for consent.
3.2 Analytics Cookies
With your consent, we use analytics cookies to help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform. This information is collected anonymously or in pseudonymous form and helps us improve performance, identify popular content, and diagnose technical issues.
- Page views, session duration, and navigation paths.
- Device type, browser, and operating system.
- Approximate geographic location (country / city level only).
- Errors and performance metrics.
3.3 Personalisation Cookies
With your consent, we use personalisation cookies to remember choices you make and tailor your experience on the Platform — for example, your preferred language, theme settings, or content recommendations based on your activity.
3.4 Advertising Cookies
With your consent, we or our advertising partners may place cookies to deliver advertisements relevant to your interests, limit how often you see the same advertisement, and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. These cookies may track your activity across different websites.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the Platform are placed by third-party service providers. We do not control these third parties or their use of cookies. We encourage you to review the privacy and cookie policies of any third-party services you interact with via the Platform. Current third-party services that may place cookies include:
- Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Mux — video streaming and analytics. See Mux’s Privacy Policy.
- Google / YouTube — embedded video content and analytics. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Auth providers — social login (e.g. Google OAuth). These providers may set their own cookies subject to their respective privacy policies.
5. Legal Basis for Using Cookies
We process personal data collected via cookies on the following legal bases under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR):
- Legitimate interests — for essential cookies required to deliver the service you have requested.
- Consent — for analytics, personalisation, and advertising cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time by updating your cookie preferences.
6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can review and update your cookie preferences at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of any page on the Platform. This will re-open our consent manager where you can enable or disable each category of optional cookie.
You may also control cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View cookies stored on your device and delete them individually or in bulk.
- Block third-party cookies.
- Block all cookies from specific websites.
- Block all cookies entirely (note: this may prevent the Platform from functioning correctly).
Browser-specific guidance is available at:
7. Cookies We Set
The following table lists the first-party cookies we set on the Platform:
| Cookie name | Category | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| next-auth.session-token | Essential | Session / 30 days | Maintains your authenticated session. |
| next-auth.csrf-token | Essential | Session | CSRF protection for authentication flows. |
| next-auth.callback-url | Essential | Session | Stores the return URL after login. |
| vsocial-cookie-consent | Essential | 1 year | Records your cookie consent preferences. |
Additional cookies may be placed by the third-party services listed in Section 4.
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals to websites. Because there is currently no industry standard for responding to DNT signals, we do not alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals at this time. You can manage your preferences using our cookie consent manager described in Section 6.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, applicable law, or our business operations. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
10. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights in relation to personal data processed via cookies, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 11. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
