MOTS-C is a synthetic peptide derived from a mitochondrial gene known as 12S rRNA. It is the first identified mitochondrial encoded peptide that functions as a signalling molecule and plays a key role in regulating mitochondrial physiology, which directly affects the body’s energy production.
MOTS-C works by modulating mitochondrial activity and influencing genes involved in energy metabolism. Research suggests that it helps regulate glucose homeostasis, improves insulin sensitivity and supports overall metabolic function. It has also shown anti inflammatory properties, which may contribute to improved immune system function and reduced metabolic stress.
The potential benefits of MOTS-C include increased energy production, improved metabolic efficiency and better blood sugar regulation. It has been studied for its possible role in conditions such as obesity, diabetes and other metabolic disorders. MOTS-C is generally considered safe and well tolerated, although research is still ongoing.
I am currently testing MOTS-C myself.
