South Korea has launched an investigation after authorities identified 1,868 suspected ticket scalping listings tied to upcoming BTS concerts. Officials say illegal resale is becoming a serious problem as fans scramble to secure seats for the group’s highly anticipated return performances.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism monitored major second-hand trading platforms and referred several suspicious cases to police for investigation. Some listings involved reselling multiple tickets at inflated prices, raising concerns about unfair profits and fan exploitation.
Authorities warn that scalped tickets may not grant entry, as organizers plan strict identity checks, QR-code ticket verification, and non-transferable wristbands at venues.
The government says the crackdown is part of a broader push to restore fairness in the concert market and protect fans from illegal resale schemes.
