Back at it, slowly but surely " DeadLifts " that is.
Been working my way back into deadlifts after a rough shoulder setback, and I’ll be honest it’s been slower than I would’ve liked.
There’s a part of you that wants to jump straight back in, load the bar up, and pretend nothing happened. But that’s usually how you end up right back where you started… or worse.
So I’ve taken the slower road this time.
Lighter weights. Better form. Listening to the body instead of the ego.
Back up to 140 kg now, and hoping to get back over 200kg again in time.
It’s not flashy, but it’s real progress.
Feels good just being back in the gym deadlifting, moving properly again, and building back up the right way. Bit by bit.
That’s something I’ve been learning more as I get older you don’t always win by going harder, sometimes you win by being patient.
If you’re dealing with an injury or a setback, don’t rush it. Do it properly. It’s worth it in the long run.
Onya if you’re putting in the work, even when it’s slow.
