EU Approves Landmark “AI Liability Directive” Setting Strict Rules for High-Risk AI Systems
The European Union has passed the AI Liability Directive, which holds developers and deployers of high-risk AI systems (including agents and autonomous robots) financially responsible for harm caused by their technology. The new law requires mandatory transparency reports, human oversight mechanisms, and insurance requirements starting January 2027.
