Samsung and SK Hynix Announce Joint $18 Billion AI Memory Fab in South Korea
Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have formed a strategic alliance to build a new $18 billion advanced memory fabrication plant focused entirely on high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips for AI training and inference. The facility is expected to begin production in 2028 and will help alleviate the current global shortage of premium AI memory, benefiting major customers like NVIDIA, AMD, and hyperscalers.
